Sympathy

As with many rituals, the sending of sympathy flowers emphasizes the power of flowers in the healing process of grieving. It is revealed that fresh flowers not only have a calming effect but a fortifying one as well. Research also shows that flowers not only express compassion but diminish grief. It is traditional to deliver sympathy flowers to a funeral home, church, and, more recently, to the family home. There also might be a wake where friends and relatives can visit and show respect for the loved one. Much like a tender hug, sending a sympathy flower bouquet creates a beautiful atmosphere out of a challenging environment.

A second role of the flower bouquet is to display a sense of dignity in the chapel. Most people couldn't imagine a memorial service without flowers. Selecting the right blooms and color theme that properly express your feelings is important. White roses reflect respect and reverence, and pastel bouquets are always appropriate. Pink carnations are a perennial favorite for mothers and grandmothers as pink symbolize motherly love. When you feel a hint of vibrancy is needed, lilies, tulips, iris, daffodils, gladiolas, and colored roses are preferred. There are numerous options to memorialize — floral crosses, country garden vases, traditional baskets, wreaths and heart displays, standing hanging sprays of flowers, casket covers, and headstone displays are all appreciated. Expression of love for the deceased has many faces and all are becoming more unique, individualized, and meaningful. Our flower shop can help at every turn.

Chappell's Florist delivers flowers for memorials to Readys Funeral and Cremation Services, Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home, Boucher and Pritchard Funeral Home, Elmwood Muenier Funeral Home, Lavigne Funeral Home, A.W. Rich Funeral Home, Stephen C. Gregory and son Cremation Service, and local churches. We'd be more than happy to help you send flowers to any of these so that your condolences can be relayed.
