Great Ways to Let the Ones You Love Know You Care During Quarantine

Great Ways to Let the Ones You Love Know You Care During Quarantine

11th Aug 2020

With quarantine and self-isolation can come a lot of loneliness, especially for those loved ones of ours who don’t have someone to share all of this time with as we wait for there to be a vaccine for COVID-19. This is why it is incredibly important to check in on those you love, see how they are doing, and let them know you are there for them during this difficult time.

In today’s post, we will be going over some great ways you can let the ones you love know that you care during quarantine. Not only will it feel good knowing that you were able to make your loved one’s day, but these seemingly small acts of kindness often mean a lot more than we think they do.

Giving Them a Video/Phone Call

Yes, it may seem small and simple, but think about the last time that one of your friends or family members called you out of the blue just to say hello, see how you were doing, and let you know that they miss you. It probably meant a lot to you, so imagine how good it would feel for someone who is feeling down and lonely during quarantine. You could even give them a call and see if they would like to plan a cup of coffee over FaceTime or watch a movie together over Zoom. Trust us, you can never go wrong with a phone call.

Sending Them Fresh Flowers

Not only are fresh flowers a beautiful and kind gift to send a loved one, if you read our last blog post, you will know that they also have tremendous health benefits. Some of these include stress reduction, promoting productivity, and improvement of the well-being of seniors, such as slowing memory loss and decreasing depression. So if you have a loved one who you think could use some positivity in their lives, we suggest sending them a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers from Chappell’s Florist in Burlington.

Writing Them a Letter

Sending letters in the mail is a little less common than it was back in the day, which makes them even more special. If you have thought about someone you love or something nice about them, grab out a piece of paper and a pen and start writing whatever comes to mind. Even a simple letter such as:

“Hey, _________ ,

I just wanted to let you know that I have been thinking of you and that I miss you! I cannot wait until we can go to _________ and do _________ once this quarantine is over. Keep your head up and let’s talk soon!

Love,

________”

Then grab your envelope and a stamp and send it on its way!

Planning a Drive-By

If you live within driving distance to someone you would like to spread some love to, plan a drive-by! This is a great way for them to stand outside of the door or look out of the window to see your smiling face and know that you are there for them. You can even buy a poster board (which typically aren’t more than a dollar), write a nice, big message on it, and hold it out of your window as you drive by. For someone who hasn’t had much social interaction for the past few months, it will be sure to make them smile!

We hope these suggestions resonated with you and inspired you to let the ones in your life know that you care for them. At Chappell’s Florist in Burlington, we have a wide range of beautiful fresh flowers that are available for curbside pick-up and local delivery. Give us a call to make a loved one’s day!
